Relationships and Trust Are Critical to Mortgage Transactions
Credit Union Recognized as Top First Mortgage Producer for the St. Louis Market in 2018

Saint Louis, MO. June 19, 2019 – The American Credit Union Mortgage Association, an education and advocacy association for the mortgage lending and housing finance industries, has recognized Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union (ABECU), along with its divisions American Eagle Credit Union and Purina Credit Union, as the Top First Mortgage Producer for the St. Louis market in 2018.

“We are successful because we focus on the Homeowner, not the loan. It is about getting to know the Homeowners, determining their financial health, and choosing the right loan that realistically fits with their financial goals,” said Larry Jackson, Vice President of Real Estate Lending.

American Credit Union Mortgage Association’s findings are based upon a year-long analysis of the National Credit Union Administration’s 5300 Call Reports, which contain financial and operational information for federally-insured credit unions. NCUA’s 5300 Call Reports are filed quarterly by the credit unions and include a balance sheet, income statement, and various supporting schedules.

“We are the hometown home loan provider and know the St. Louis market, which contributes to our success. Our Mortgage Loan Officers are local, and Homebuyers work with the same Mortgage Loan Officer through the entire home buying process. They are there to answer questions and research options, and are the Homebuyer’s point of contact as the process progresses to loan processing and underwriting. We earn their trust, and this helps to build a strong long-term relationship. We also service loans in-house after closing, an added benefit our Homebuyers appreciate,” added Jackson.

Anheuser-Busch Employees' Credit Union, American Eagle Credit Union, and Purina Credit Union offer Members competitive rates and low fees. A full-spectrum list of mortgage products empowers homebuyers to choose the right option to meet their financial goals, including:

  • Community Contributor Mortgage for teachers, firefighters, law enforcement officers, current military members (reserve and active duty), civil service workers, healthcare and emergency medical professionals
  • First-Time Home Buyer Mortgage for buyers looking to purchase their very first home
  • Traditional Mortgages for homebuyers looking for fixed rate mortgages, adjustable rate mortgages, and jumbo loans

In addition, the credit union’s mortgage services include educational resources and HomeAdvantage®, a free program that helps community members search, buy, and sell real estate, with participants earning cash rewards at closing.* In 2018, Members of ABECU and its divisions earned more than $100,000 in cash rewards at closing.  As of May 2019, Members are earning an average of $1,136 in cash rewards using HomeAdvantage®.

*Cash Rewards are awarded through the HomeAdvantage program to buyers and sellers who use an agent in the HomeAdvantage network. Home buyers or sellers are not eligible for Cash Rewards if they use an agent outside this network. Cash Rewards amounts are dependent on the commissions paid to the HomeAdvantage network agent. Obtaining a mortgage or use of any specific lending institution is not a requirement to earn Cash Rewards. If you are obtaining a mortgage, your lender may have specific rules on how Cash Rewards can be paid out. Cash Rewards are available in most states; however, are void where prohibited by law or by the lender. Please contact your local credit union representative for details.
